Gianluca Grea was born in Genoa in 1964. After living abroad in Africa and Asia, he started his activity as a freelancer in Italy, working with tier-one consultants and gaining solid experience in corporate, real estate and financial law.
From 1997 to 2014, he continued his professional career in the Pirelli Group, where he held the role of General Counsel and Secretary of the Board of Directors in listed and supervised companies of the Pirelli Real Estate group. As from the roles covered, he participates in M&A operations, capital market, stock exchange listing processes and promotion of public purchase offers, including shares in real estate funds, start-up of real estate and servicing asset management activities in the NPL sector.
During the European expansion phase of the group, he is in charge of the structuring and organization, even participatory, coordinating and managing the legal and corporate functions.
His recent experience focuses on corporate governance, in particular on organization, processes, and procedures of financial intermediaries (subject to the supervision of the Authorities). Today, together with Alessandro Chieffi and other partners, he founded CG Partners - Legal Governance, a boutique company specialized in corporate governance, internal control systems, capital markets, and overall corporate transactions.
He’s served as well as a professor at the University of Genoa and the Catholic University of Piacenza, holding courses on corporate governance. He is the author of various publications and speaker at conferences.
